The Potter Trail is a fantastic educational experience!
Are you a teacher currently reading Harry Potter with your class? Maybe you are a leader of a language school group looking to improve your group's English skills? Or perhaps even an after school club just looking for a fun excursion? The Potter Trail has experience with hundreds of school and educational groups, and our guides are highly skilled at adapting the tour content to the age range or language ability of your group.
We ask you to bring something you can use as a wand. This can be anything roughly wand-shaped - pens, pencils and umbrellas all welcome!
We recommend a minimum age of 7 for children to get something out of the tour. Please do not book a tour with us if you are bringing children under 7 years old.
We offer discounts for educational groups compared to our regular private tours. Click BOOK NOW below to see details of pricing and available times. If you are unsure whether you qualify as an educational group please contact our Head Wizard Sam on contact@pottertrail.com.
Please do not bring your school group on our public tour, we do not allow school groups to join our public tour and we will have to turn you away. We ask that you respect this policy. We have learned from experience that school groups within our public tour do not behave respectfully toward the other attendees or the guide, and we enforce this rule without exception.

The Potter Trail meets many of the educational outcomes outlined in the Curriculum for Excellence. As a Social Studies excursion we can help your class to:
- Develop their understanding of the history, culture and heritage of Scotland
- Explore and evaluate different types of sources and evidence
- Learn how to locate, explore and link features and places locally and further afield
As well as have a lot of fun at the same time!
Our tours start at Bobby's Sandwich Shop near the junction of George IV Bridge and Candlemaker Row, and end on Victoria Street.
The tour will last between 75 and 90 minutes depending on how busy the city is.

With all of our private and virtual tours you'll get a full refund up to 24 hours before the tour and a 50% refund within 24 hours. Just email our Head Wizard Sam on contact@pottertrail.com and he'll be happy to sort this for you!

We may be able to organise a tour for you at a different time to those available here, depending on the availability of our guides. Please email our Head Wizard Sam on contact@pottertrail.com and he'll work his magic!
Looking to bring multiple groups?
Our tours are priced depending on group size with up to 35 people per group. We can accept up to 3 groups at the same time slot - you'll just need to book multiple groups and work out how they'll be split accordingly.
